Jordan and I met Labor Day weekend of 2006
while attending seperate vacations in Lake Tahoe, CA. Each year,
the girls from San Diego would rent a van and drive up to Lake
Tahoe to float the Truckee River and kick back for some girl
time bonding. Jordan was also up that year with his group of
guy friends that had also gathered to spend some guy bonding
time in Lake Tahoe. On Saturday, September 2, 2006 Jordan and
I literally bumped rafts on the Truckee River in Tahoe City,
CA. Eversince, we have been in-seperable!
WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED: December 24, 2007
HOW IT HAPPENED
On December 24, 2007, Jordan Jones, the love of my life proposed. It all came as a complete surprise on a night spent with Family at the Warner's home in Brookfield. Jordan flew in on a flight earlier in the day from San Jose into Chicago, and met up with the family for dinner and gift opening. We all opened presents and had the chance to have some food, as my sister was about to leave to attend a midnight Mass service at their church. About 9:30, Jordan and I were finishing up opening our last gifts from the family when he announced that he had one last gift for me. He then got up to get the gift from his carry-on. As he walked towards me with the "little blue bag," I realized that the next upcoming moments might change our lives together. He handed me the bag. I began to open it and as I looked up, I saw members of my family - now posed with cameras up to their faces waiting to capture the moment. I began to unwrap the white ribbon and blue paper, and realized what I was about to open was more than just a possible necklace. I began to well up as I got down to the velvet black box. When I looked up, Jordan was down infront of me on one knee. He said, " You are the best thing to ever happen to me. I love you. Jennifer, will you marry me?" I was overcome with emotion and tears of happiness and said, "YES!" All of my family started clapping and cheering as Jordan took my hand and placed the beautiful ring onto my finger. We then celebrated the new Mr. and Mrs. Jones to-be with a bottle of chilled Jordan Chardonay Wine.
